"Emergency department in sligo general hospital"

About: National Ambulance Service Sligo General Hospital / Emergency department

(as a relative),

I am writing as I wanted to highlight the great treatment dad received whilst he was tended to at the emergency department in Sligo general hospital. Dad had a fall whilst visiting his wife's grave and broke 2 bones in his leg. I called an ambulance which arrived within 5 to 10 minutes of the call. He was brought to the treatment room in the emergency department in Sligo.

Within a very short space of time he had an x ray, followed by his leg being re set and cast, another x ray, and then transferred to the orthopaedic ward. During this time, which was quite emotional for us as a family having lost our mother and dads wife in September 2019, the nurses and all staff were so friendly, engaging, and could not have done more. He was seen to so quickly and with great care.

You often hear/see complaints, but rarely see written compliments and where it is due it should be highlighted. Dad could not have received any better treatment, and even as we all cried at different times with the emotion behind being back in the hospital, the staff were so supportive, offered tea, gave great reassurances and made it all go so smoothly, like a well oiled machine. I am very greatly for all their hard work, and appreciate all their efforts. I would also greatly appreciate it if this message could be brought to the staff who were working that day, as it is nice to feel appreciated and that is abolsutely how me and my family felt. Kind regards
