(as a service user),

I was working as a teacher and fell into my own trap of not caring for myself and giving too much to my students...I did not have any boundaries..was doing too much and worked myself to a complete standstill. My GP was a great support and made sure that I received the attention that I needed. After two years of careful attention from a great Mental health team..I was referred by a lovely clinical psychologist to this course to enable me to learn new coping strategies and techniques to help to prevent a relapse in the future.

I meet with service users and sometimes with their families. I assess psychological problems and provide psychological interventions in an effort to help service users overcome their difficulties.

Dear Poppy,

Thanks for sharing your experience attending the mental health team.

Its great that the support you received from your GP and the mental health team has been so positive. As a service we strive to adopt a holistic approach to supporting people who are experiencing mental health difficulties. Learning strategies and techniques to cope with the stressors in our lives and prevent/reduce relapse is an important part of each persons recovery journey.

I am wondering what course you refer to in your story? It would be great to know what specifically is working well.
