"Mental Health Service at St Coulmbus Hospital"

About: Sligo Leitrim Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit

(as the patient),

I was a patient in St columba's hospital for a little while after been admitted by Dr o Neil  thank him and the team with all my heart for doing it as I now know it was for the best.

The staff were lovley to me 90 percent of the staff the food was fab met some lovley people.

Staff cared so much.

However their was one night 2 staff members were very mean to me and I'll never forget it, I won't recall the incident but I believe one of them should not be in that job, I'm sorry but I thought they were very ignorant and they called a dr just to get me off their book.

I think that Dr O neil is the best he is a great Dr so kind and wants the best for his patients and u can have the craic with him too I know I did... he cares but really tries to understand u he doesn't try to downplay your problems. Go Dr O Neil

Dear Rebecca,

Thank you for taking the time to share your mostly positive feedback and your story. I will be sure to pass on your compliments to the relevant departments and staff.

It is unfortunate that your stay in our Approved Centre, was not an entirely positive experience. Please accept my invitation to discuss your experience further by contacting me on 0719183002, to see if there is anything we can change in order to improve our service.

It will be my pleasure to pass on your very kind and encouraging words to Dr O'Neill, who I have no doubt, will be delighted to receive such positive feedback. Go Rebecca!

Yours gratefully,

Vincent Melvin,

Acting Community Mental Heath Nurse
