Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust have joined the growing list of trusts working with Care Opinion in order to improve services.

Care Opinion's Sarah Ashurst with Staff & WW&LIn a statement on the trusts website they have confirmed that they are seeking the feedback of not only patients but also relatives, carers and hospital visitors in order to monitor their performance and make service improvements and changes as a result of the feedback. It is the trusts policy to make the ability to give feedback as accessible to as many people as possible. Once the story has be placed on our site it is reviewed and then published enabling to trusts to view to story and from there they will be able to read and respond to the posting.

Since the teaming up of the trust with Care Opinion over 150 stories have been shared and these have directly led to 4 service improvements - which is approximately 1 per month.

The most recent change was prompted by a suggestion that fasting on the day of an Angiogram was unnecessary. This gave rise to discussion amongst clinical staff who have accepted that some patients maybe able to eat on the day of their Angiogram and that all of this would be communicated in their appointment letter.

However the 152 stories shared thus far give an overwhelming endorsement to the high quality of the Nursing and clinical staff at the hospitals covered by the trust. In fact for standards of medical and nursing care the trust rates as 4.1 out of a mximum score of 5.
