Introduction

Care Opinion has built resources for staff and students to make full use of their particular Education Subscription. These resources can be found here.

This gives all the information required for staff or students to get started with accessing the stories and responses on Patient/Care Opinion for their learning requirements.  As we move forward with this work, with all our education partners, we will be building a reservoir of useful outputs from round the country.  This will build on existing blogs, sample teaching assignments and learning tools that are already on the site.

Brief summary of useful guidance:

   1.  The Care Opinion sites are fairly intuitive and easy to navigate.  We have put together a series of short videos to explain what is available through your subscription.  These are available on the Getting Started section.

   2.  As a facilitator, you are set up on Care Opinion with administration rights. This means that you can add or remove members, as well as monitoring member activity. You can produce a member activity report which will show you how many stories have been read by each member on your subscription. To produce the report, go to the member’s page. Then simply select the ‘member’s activity report’.

   3.  These videos will help you to put together stories relevant to your teaching requirements.  You can focus on different geographical areas, specialist treatment functions, different groups of professionals and much more.  So you will find the stories you need,  whether wanting to compare good and poor practice in an area for a teaching session or put together a series of stories for a case study.

   4.  In the second  section, Resources for Education Staff and Studentsyou will find a sample teaching assignment, student testimonials and various information about how different bodies and teaching staff are using Care Opinion.  You will see blogs from teaching staff and from students reflecting on their experiences.

   5.  The third section: Student Nurse Opinion, is for those staff working with and supporting students to feedback about their placement experiences.  You will find guidance for students on the process of feeding back, information about moderation and as the pilot develops you will see a link to the feedback from student nurses.
