"A&E in St Vincents"

About: St.Vincent's University Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

I was on a trolley with Kidney stones waiting for an MRI in July 2014. A poor guy was brought in on a trolley from the ambulance with what looked like a neck and leg brace etc from what looked like a motor bike or bike crash. He was left in pain bleeding down his face for at least 30 mins, eventually my husband and I agreed he should go and help him. He gave him tissues to wipe the blood from his eyes and face but still no one came to see the man. One hour later he still hadn't been attended to. It was like he was forgotten about. It was inhuman. He was clearly in pain crying distressed and just left there. The A&E was crazy busy with people on trolleys everywhere. Staff were doing their best but I couldn't help thinking if that man had any internal injuries that were serious he would have died in a corner alone with no help.
