"Waiting to see Rheumatologist"

In October 2013 my GP sent a letter requesting an appointment with a rheumatologist in CUH. I have a medical card. When I had heard nothing about being placed on a waiting list or anything by October 2014, I contacted central appointments in CUH, to be told they had no record of receiving any letter of referral from my GP. I contacted my GP who confirmed the letter had been sent, but it had been lost by the hospital. The hospital have now placed me on the waiting list which is 4 years long. They have placed me at the bottom of list as if they only received the letter from my GP this year, not acknowledging, in anyway, the fact I should have been on the list since 2013. Due to the hospitals mistake I could now be possibly be waiting for 5 years for an appointment.
