"National Rehabilitation Hospital - A valuable resource staffed with passion!"

About: National Rehabilitation Hospital, Rochestown Ave, Co. Dublin

(as the patient),

In 2010 I suffered a serious infection which result in me spending considerable time as a patient in various hospitals in Dublin. As I recovered I was moved to NRH for rehabilitation as I was hardly able to walk or care for myself. I was anxious about the transfer however within days the dedicated staff had be on my feet and walking. The approach to care there is truly co-ordinated and a whole person approach. It is to be commended. Everyone from the consultant and physio to the porters and catering staff all have a passion for what they do. They genuinely treat you with respect, compassion and equity. They are not only concerned about the injury or infect but you, your family and getting you back as best as possible to every day life. This is a national resource that must be developed and protected. Their on-going post discharge follow up is also excellent as are their links with Spinal Injuries Ireland. All of this helps to make the treatment an experience I will never forget and will always be grateful for.
