"Beaumont's renal staff are pretty darn amazing!"

I was in Beaumont hospital in June this year to receive a cadaver kidney donation.

What a fantastic bunch of people in St Teresa's! Each and everyone was so nice, kind and brilliant at their jobs. The surgeon (unlike some I've met in the past) was a jolly man, who cared about the person, and treated me as a human rather than a body.

Yes we have many problems in the health care system, but my goodness the staff on this ward, including domestic, cleaning and catering, really go out of their way to make the patient feel safe, secure and comfortable; nothing was too much trouble. Everything was clearly explained to me without medical jargon. Everyone was pleasant and put me at ease before the operation. The aftercare was second to none.

Credit where credit is due, St Teresa's and Beaumont's renal staff are pretty darn amazing! ! Keep it up.

Thankfully my kidney is working pretty well so far, and I'm beginning to have a new life again thanks to these wonderful people.
