"Diabetic clinic and trying to get insulin pump"

About: Sligo General Hospital

(as a service user),

I have type 1 diabetes which entails injecting insulin 3 times daily.  I have taken a number of episodes of diabetic hypoglycemia.

I am always seen by the diabetic clinic promptly when I need them.

I have the dexcom diabetic monitor for the last 3 years. It is of some help but it does not regulate your blood sugars.  I have asked about getting an insulin pump on a number of occasions and have not got an answer on this. All I am told is that they will look into it.  This is very frustrating for me as I know people who have them and it has changed their lives.
