"They were always very professional and supportive"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Early Intervention Youth Mental Health Service

(as a service user),

I was referred to Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) three years ago. I found the EIP programme very beneficial and all the EIP team were very professional and supportive. Over the three years of the programme I was offered a physical health examination every year. I attended Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp) with Sharon. I attended Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT) with Grainne where members of my family also attended.

I met with Ian and Sinead from Individual Placement and Support (IPS) where we explored employment opportunities. I was assigned an EIP Keyworker Ann who I met regularly. Ann was always very professional and supportive.

Thank you to all the EIP team.

Thank you for sharing your story about The Early Intervention in Psychosis Programme and the positive experience you have had with the team. We aim to provide early therapeutic interventions that have the best evidenced based recovery outcomes for anyone experiencing a psychotic illness. Sharing your experiences helps not only the EIP team but can provide hope and encouragement to someone who may be at the beginning of their own recovery journey.
