"Provided him with invaluable guidance"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Early Intervention Youth Mental Health Service Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Family Connections

(as a parent/guardian),

My son has been fortunate to receive great support through his Early Intervention Program (EIP) during a challenging time with his mental health, where dedicated professionals worked with him to address his unique needs.

Despite this, he continues to face significant challenges with his mental health, which often feels like an ongoing struggle.

The program provided him with access to dedicated professionals especially nurse Tara and Dr Mcguire who understood his struggles and offered tailored strategies to help him cope. Through regular counselling sessions and group activities, he was able to express his feelings in a safe environment and connect with others who faced similar challenges. This support not only boosted his confidence but also equipped him with valuable tools to manage his mental health more effectively, making a significant difference in his overall well-being.

The resources available through the program provide him with invaluable guidance and tools to navigate his emotional hurdles, but the weight of his mental health issues can still be overwhelming at times. Nonetheless, with the support of the EIP team, fabulous Nurse Tara and Dr McGuire he is learning to manage his difficulties, and we remain hopeful that this foundation will help him build the resilience he needs to thrive.
