"Excellent care at Sligo General"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Crisis Resolution Team

(as the patient),

I suffered a major panic attack and I got my brother to take me to Sligo General hospital. I got well cared for and was given medication for my panic attack with a plan to have the mental health crisis team come visit me at home.

I had lovely members visit and chat with me, offer me advice and ways to control my attacks. They members that called were called Hugh, Joan, Nicola, Eila and Enda. They were very professional and emphatic.

I have now been discharged from the team and I would wish to thank them for their unconditional support and care to me during my challenging time.

Dear Starjd86,

Thank you for the time you took to post about your experience with our mental health services at Sligo University Hospital, and with the Crisis Team. I am glad that you found the service supportive and empathetic, and we have made sure all of the staff you mention have read your positive feedback – it is lovely to have that acknowledged. We all wish you well in your recovery journey as you continue to progress.

Kind regards,

Dr E Gethins
