"Helped to get back from my lowest point"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Crisis Resolution Team

(as the patient),

Having suffered for months with a lowering in my mood and increased anxiety and intrusive thoughts I went to a new GP who put me in touch with the crisis intervention team. The team were just amazing and I can never thank them enough for helping me come back from my lowest point.

I have found the 1-1's good as they come to my own home, no judgement and was give practice advice and support. The carers actually get to know you.

Dear Sarahmary,

Thank you very much for posting your feedback, I am glad that we were able to support you and that you feel you have benefitted from our service. You raise important points about the value of not being judged, and also about getting to know you – thank you for commenting on these. We are very conscious of meeting people where they are at, we know that crisis is different for everyone, and that people’s past and present circumstances will often colour how people experience and present in distress – it’s important for all of us to understand the person’s whole circumstances if we are going to understand and treat the immediate distress in front of us, as well as starting the process of making lasting change.

Thank you again for your comments, and we all wish you well on your recovery journey

Kind regards,

Dr E Gethins
