"My eating disorder recovery"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Eating Disorder Service (SLEDS)

(as a service user),

I was treated by the Sligo/Leitrim services in Sligo. I was an inpatient in a very serious condition with Diabulemia and Anorexia. From day one I have been treated professionally with respect and dignity. My autonomy was always respected. I never felt judged or shamed for my illness. I feel this is what's positive about this service and definitely helps the patient recover.

I was mostly treated by Mary who is a CNS in eating disorder. Mary is a kind hearted lady who took me on as an individual person and treated me brilliantly. She always listened to me and tried to understand me. I have recovered now and am very happy with the treatment I got
