"Truly grateful"

About: Child and Adolescent Mental Services / CAMHS - North Team

(as a service user),

At 15 after trying to end my life I started attending CAMHS in Letterkenny.

Almost 2 years later I had my last session with Aisling last week and am truly grateful for everything she and all the team have done for me over this time period.

I really don’t know where I’d be if it wasn’t for them.

Hi '0rldht',

Thank you for taking the time to provide this welcome feedback regarding your experience of our service. It is true that many young people who attend CAMHS are often rock bottom in terms of their mental health, and sometimes do not see a way out whatever difficulties they may be facing. Yours is an example of how - no matter the extent of how bad things get, positive change is not only possible but achievable. Having a strong relationship with the individual clinicians that work on our team is central to the recovery process, and it is clear that you had this with Aisling. Well done on all you have achieved to date, and on behalf of the CAMHS team I wish you every success in all you do in the future.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and best wishes.
