"Kindness of staff from ambulance and A&E"

About: National Ambulance Service Sligo General Hospital / Emergency department

(as a relative),

My mother has a progressive disease so unfortunately we are becoming frequent visitors to the A&E at SUH.

From the minute the ambulance service answer the call, I am always so reassured. Last night in particular we had 2 separate ambulance calls, Pat and Lorraine were so kind, professional and supportive to Mum and our family. Their manner and reassurance was amazing. Another crew Pat and Anne were also so fantastic at safely bringing Mum to hospital.

Being very ill in A&E is never easy but our experience with the staff, from doctors to porters was something to admire. John, made us feel so comfortable and his kindness will never be forgotten. This might sound silly but it’s sometimes the little things like getting a bigger chair for a relative, makes dealing with a sick parent a little easier in A&E. I am proud of the kind hearted staff that look after my Mum so well with every visit, it means more to our family than they will ever realise. Thanks
