Our 6 year old son was told he has a mole which needs to be removed by surgery. As concerned parents we have not been given any further information other than being told he will be on a waiting list. No confirmation as to who suggested any of this, how long the wait will be, any risks or associated complications to look out for...nothing. Not even any idea of when the next medical professional we will be in contact with. Its now been over a month and still nothing.
Their “mission statement” on your website suggests that;
"We aim to provide individual patient centered [sic] care to each patient and their families and promote patient participation in their care. We encourage good interpersonal relationships."
And further “values” of,
• Communication – engage in open and honest communication with our patients and staff.
• Patient Engagement – to engage patients in decisions about their healthcare in a manner that promotes partnership.
• Dignity & Respect – promote a positive environment which encourages and protects the dignity of patients, their relatives/carers and staff.
We have found it lacking in all of the above and are completely at a loss as to what to say/ do. We have now sent a registered letter and GDPR request to have them provide us relevant information. For a hospital to be like this in the 21st century is beyond belief.
"Lack of communication"
