"My GP and locum GP"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Sligo Adult Community Mental Health Services

(as a service user),

I went to my doctor when I felt unwell I didn’t know what was wrong with me. The doctor was good and listened to me and explained things to me in a way I understood them. He was a sit in doctor. He put me in for counselling I went once but was very afraid going back the second time in case my people found out. My own doctor is very good too.

Response from: Dr Michael Coleman GP, member of the Sligo GP Society

I read your kind words about your visit to your GPs office. I am so glad you had a good experience and thank you for reporting it. It is so important for the doctor to listen to the patient and to try and understand the problem. Well done for taking the doctors advice and attending at least one of the counselling sessions. I hope the situation is improving for you and thanks again for the favourable comments.

Dr Coleman.
