"CBT successful"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services

(as a service user),

Its great to come to Liscarney House and get all the attention I need from staff.

I find CBT is working very well, I have only completed one session so far and hoping to see more improvements as I progress on.

I find my mood is still low but I have definitely noticed an improvement

Dear Pictortm79

thank you for sharing your experiences of your engagement with Liscarney House acute Mental Health Day Hospital. I am delighted that you feel you are getting the support and understanding you need at a time when you are not at your best. Depression and anxiety are distressing and at times disabling illnesses so I am delighted that having skilled practitioners to provide support and to help you manage negative and distressing feelings and thoughts has helped you feel a little better already. The recovery journey is never as short as we would like it to be but I hope you are reassured by the positive changes you have recognized in yourself. the CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) approaches are a wonderful way in which you can learn to help manage the way you feel and helps provide you with the skills, understanding and awareness that you need to look forward to the future with confidence.

I hope you continue to feel that things are improving and wish you the best in your continued recovery.

Best wishes,

Kevin
