"A special thankyou"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Sligo Leitrim Psychiatry of Later Life

(as the patient),

In 2019 I was suffering from severe depression and I was referred by my GP to attend Liscarney House. There I found friendly, helpful and well-qualified staff to advise and help me. Their service included beneficial group discussions and classes, with ample opportunity to understand and resolve my problem. I have now been discharged from Liscarney House and I feel I owe everyone there a special thank you.

Dear Moygara, Thank you for feeding back to us about your experience of attending Liscarney House, Acute Day Hospital. I am pleased to know that the service was able to provide you with the help and support you needed at a time when you most needed it. The day hospital programme provides both group and individual sessions specifically designed to offer information and education specific to individual needs. The multidisciplinary team, made up of nurses, occupational therapists, multi-task attendants, doctors, psychology and social work, work with you to provide the interventions you need to help you on your recovery journey, whilst the peer support and social engagement elements of attendance are often undervalued. Sometimes it is nice to know that others are going through similiar difficulties and encouraging to know they are finding their own way back to well health. Thanks again for your comments and I wish you well in the future. Best wishes, Kevin.
