About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services

(as the patient),

I have been helped immeasurably by the eating disorder service in sligo/Leitrim. I am diagnosed with binge eating disorder, and not only has treatment been effective, but I've been treated with incredible dignity and respect. Also the help that I've gotten has and will in the future reduce my total medical costs due to preventing and/or minimising associated issues. Please keep funding this service!

I meet with service users and sometimes with their families. I assess psychological problems and provide psychological interventions in an effort to help service users overcome their difficulties.

SOME INFORMATION ABOUT THE EATING DISORDERS SERVICE:

The Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Service, in conjunction with Collaboration and Working Together (CAWT) provides the Eating Disorders Therapy Service. The team provides early intervention, assessment and treatment for individuals with mild to moderate eating disorders. Referral to this service can be arranged by a persons General Practitioner.
