My son had a bad pain in school, when he came home I brought him to the GP who referred him to hospital. We went to UCHG arriving at about 4.30. We waited about an hour to be seen, the doctor we saw asked for one of the urology team to see him. A surgeon saw him and said he needed to have an operation quickly, he might have a torsion of his testicle. It was all very quick, my son was in theatre by 7.30, it turned out not to be a torsion, but a little node that had to be removed.
My son got great care from all the staff in A&E, the Urology doctors who were very kind and explained all well and the great nursing staff in the childrens ward. Thank you all so much.
