"Living well, living mindfully programme. Beo centre Sligo"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Sligo Adult Community Mental Health Services

(as a service user),

I was really fortunate to be referred for this course through mental health services.

I have bipolar and I now feel , thanks to this course, that I have the tools within myself to notice, address and recover from my symptoms of depression in the future. In fact just last  week I became very distressed for reasons I won’t go into here, and was stunned with just how effectively I could help myself with what I’ve learned about mindfulness. I think I will need to seek help from the services a lot less. And I hope many others will get the chance to do this course and experience the positive benefits that I have. Thanks so much Paula!

I meet with service users and sometimes with their families. I assess psychological problems and provide psychological interventions in an effort to help service users overcome their difficulties.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of the Living Well, Living Mindfully course, and in particular for sharing how you are now using these mindfulness tools to cope better with the symptoms of your depression. It is wonderful that you are now accessing and strengthening your own inner resources to support yourself in staying well. I hope that the practice of mindfulness continues to support you in living more fully and with greater ease. I look forward to continuing the practice at the refresher sessions. Kindly Dr Paula Martin,
