I suffered from depression, self-harm and obsessive thoughts for several years.
My psychiatric nurse helped me a lot with the depression. He was very understanding and professional. He always seemed to lead me to a better and clearer picture of whatever I was going through. It was very important for me to listen to everything he said and it was very easy to take on his guidance and advice because of the way he dealt with my condition.
He also referred me to a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist at Easkey Health Centre who has been very helpful. Each therapy session was definitely a step closer to resolution and to getting better in dealing with my problem. The therapy opened my thoughts to a positive way of thinking and also to a better and more efficient and effective way of achieving a sense of balance and even happiness and positivity in several aspects of my mental health.
I came depressed, unhappy and almost not caring about the future but now I have completed my therapy session and I feel that I am now equipped with more knowledge and skills to cope with whatever lies ahead.
I can definitely say that I am a happier and more positive person. I am very thankful for the professional support offered to me by my nurse and therapist.
