"From GP to Day Service at Liscarney House"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Sligo Leitrim Psychiatry of Later Life

(as the patient),

My episode of nerves and depression was sparked off by some vertigo and my GP talked to me and referred me to Liscarney House which was good and the right thing to happen even though I was nervous about it.

The staff at Liscarney House are very nice and very helpful and attentive. Staff talk to us and help us to understand about the treatment and the medication. I come in on the train and we get picked up which is really good, it would be hard to get here if not.

Ruth the OT helps me to manage my nerves because I used to be really down on myself. She gave me exercises to help me and how I think about things.

The Dr is really good and listened to me and got me the right medication. The plan for me was to come for a few months to help me learn to cope better when I get home and I feel that this has worked.
