My GP referred me to the Psychiatry of Old Age Mental Health Team in Sligo.

I feel since I have started to come to Liscarney House that I have come out of my shell. Talking to people here is a great help to me. The staff are second to none, and very understanding. They are great for keeping in contact with me.

Now I talk to people whereas before I did not.

Dear patient /service user

Thank you for sharing your experience of attending Liscarney House Acute Day Hospital. Psychiatry of Old Age Mental Health Service is a community based multidisciplinary team serving Sligo Leitrim West Cavan and South Donegal. The Day Hospital is situated at team base,Liscarney House on the Pearse Road Sligo.

We work closely with your GP and patients/ service users who attend can have their treatment monitored and have access to different professionals while attending the day hospital programme during the day and returning home in the evening. It is intended as a time limited intervention to support you your families and carers on the road to recovery. Many patients tell us about the support they get from other patients that are also attending, who are often at a different stage on their recovery journey.

I will share your posting with staff members at team training and with the user group. Once again I wish you all the best
