About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / HSE Alcohol & Substance Misuse Counselling Service

(as a parent/guardian),

My Son went down a very bad path with Cannabis, We as parents went to Addiction Services. We found an absolutely amazing Lady called Marina who helped our son.  over a long period of time..  He's finally free from Cannabis all thanks to the wonderful help from Marina. 

I think this service should be advertised more in Secondary Schools, the only way found out about this service was through Junior Liason Officer after he got into trouble.

More Information should be easier to access than having  to get into trouble with Gardai

Dear Patricia,

Thank you for acknowledging our service and the benefits experienced by your son and your family and for also recommending further highlighting of the service.

I attend Home Youth liaison service ( directly linked to the school) team meetings on occasions to advise about the referral pathway.

Also, there are two information events organised for September by the Children and young people’s committee (CYPSC) which the Substance Misuse service will be part of and we will continue to keep your ideas in mind.
